When was the last time you actually cleaned your sunglasses? Probably never, which is why we’ll be talking about how to clean them properly without causing any damage. When you clean your sunnies regularly, their lifespan over the years increases. So, here are the best ways to clean your sunglasses:

Rinse, Rinse, Rinse

Start off by making sure your hands are clean. Gather up your sunglasses and gently rinse them in lukewarm water. You can just place the pair under a running faucet and give them a good rinse. One thing to remember is to make sure the pressure is not too harsh or that the water is too hot. You wear the sunglasses outside which means they have a lot of dirt and debris on them and that can be bad for your face and can lead to causing of pimples.

Clean the Shades

Once you have rinsed the sunglasses, it’s time to tackle the shades. It’s highly likely that they have a lot of fingerprints, stains, dirt and maybe even makeup on them. To clean them, grab a dish soap but avoid anything that has any lotion or moisturizer as that can smear the lenses or cause serious damage.

Take a dab of dish soap on your fingertip and very gently scrub every inch you’re your sunglasses; this includes the interior and exterior both. You even want to clean those nose pads as they may be covered in oil emitting from your t-zone. If your sunglasses have some inset details, then grab a lint-free cloth to clean those tiny nooks and corners. You want to take your time with this and be gentle otherwise you may end up ruining your sunnies.

Rinse Again

Once again, you want to rinse the sunglasses. This time, you’re doing it to get rid of the dish soap. Make sure that the water isn’t too hot, or the pressure is too much. Be gentle with rinsing and do it fully and from every corner; app soap should be removed.

Dry

The last step of cleaning your sunglasses is to dry them. Take a lint-free piece of cloth or one of our micro fiber cloths and massage your sunglasses gently until dry. Don’t use towels as they can scratch the lenses. You may also leave them to air dry before wearing.

And that is how you can clean your sunglasses the right way. Also, avoid cleaning them with your blouse as it leads to scratches and smears. Take care of those sassy little pieces as they not only protect you from the sun but also add a fun touch to any outfit!
